How a lateral channel compressor works:
Lateral channel compressors consist of a ring-shaped divided housing. A paddle wheel turns inside of the housing. The paddles, which pass the inlet in close proximity, suck the gas-like medium to be compressed into the lateral channel blower. The paddles accelerate the forward movement of the gas and push it out. The ring-shaped housing detours the gas and guides it back to the base of the subsequent paddles. Each of this spiral cycles, many of which occur during a turn of the paddle wheel, results in a dynamic gas pressure increase. At the end of the turn, the paddles push the compressed gas through a narrowed static chamber to the outlet opening without any pulsation. Switching two channels or paddle wheels parallel inside the aggregate leads to the generation of maximum air volume. Switching two channels or paddle wheel sequentially leads to a bi-phase compression for the attainment of maximum excess or negative pressure.

Design variants lateral channel compressor:
Lateral channel blower with directly flanged motors are available as standard features for horizontal and vertical set-up. The inflowing and exhaust air sound suppressors can be attached in a variety of ways.

2. Lateral channel blower with free shaft end and belt drive on a basic frame for high RPMs and special drives such as EEx or RPM controlled drives.

3. Lateral channel blowers with sealed gas-contact surfaces, double mechanical seals or blockage liquid seals. The seals are resistant enough to withstand slightly aggressive media.

Technical data:
The performance data pertains to the transportation of gas at entry temperatures of 20°C, a density of 1.23 kg/m³ and a pressure level of 1013 mbar. The reference RPM value is 2900 1/min. The tolerance for the data provided is + / - 10%.
